Tender summary
A two-phase construction or renovation project at a Toronto District School Board (TDSB) facility, with Phase 1 to be substantially completed by August 30, 2026 and Phase 2 by August 30, 2027. Work must be scheduled to minimize disruption to school operations, with intrusive work performed after hours or on weekends.
Key requirements
- Complete COVID-19 self-screening before site visit and bring copy of results
- Wear level 1 or 2 medical mask and appropriate PPE during site walk through
- Submit digital Labour and Material Bond (Form 31) and Performance Bond (Form 32) including HST if bid exceeds $500,000
- Bonds must be submitted digitally (TDSB will only accept digital bonds)
- Submit project schedule to the Board immediately upon contract award
- Phase 1 substantial completion by August 30, 2026
- Phase 2 substantial completion by August 30, 2027
- Non-destructive work performed during regular hours; work affecting school operations must be carried out after hours or on weekends in accordance with city by-law
- Provide complete price breakdown of Base Bid Price within 5 business days if requested by Contract Specialist
- Provide Installation Floater insurance coverage sufficient to cover supplies and equipment if applicable
Special conditions
- COVID-19 self-screening required prior to site visit with results to be brought to walk through
- Staggered interior building walk through due to COVID-19 pandemic protocols
- Work affecting school operations must be carried out after hours or on weekends in accordance with city by-law
- Digital bonds only accepted by TDSB; no paper bonds
- Contract Specialist may request price breakdown from unofficial low bidder(s) after closing at sole discretion of Purchasing Department
What disqualifies a bid
- Failure to submit complete price breakdown of Base Bid Price within 5 business days of request may deem bid non-compliant
- Failure to wear level 1 or 2 medical mask and appropriate PPE at site walk through
- Submission of paper (non-digital) bonds when bid exceeds $500,000
- Failure to complete COVID-19 self-screening before site visit
