Rehabilitation of approximately 2160 m2 of eroded valley slope along a portion of Bronte Creek at Nemo Camp, in partnership with Scouts Canada, as a priority environmental restoration project benefiting Shinner shiner (Notropis photogenis). Key works include toe protection via vegetated rock buttress, point bar regrading, and bioengineering-based surficial slope restoration.
Key requirements
- WSIB coverage or equivalent
- Adequate liability insurance
- Experience with slope stability and erosion control projects
- Ability to implement vegetated rock buttress toe protection
- Ability to regrade point bar along inside bank of channel meander
- Ability to perform surficial restoration using bioengineering techniques
Special conditions
- Work is in or adjacent to Bronte Creek, a sensitive aquatic environment supporting Species at Risk (Shinner shiner - Notropis photogenis)
- Project is conducted in partnership with Scouts Canada - coordination with third-party landowner/partner required
- Work must align with Conservation Halton's environmental restoration program requirements
- Potential environmental permitting or regulatory compliance related to in-water or near-water works
